Nevada Museums Association 2007 Annual Conference
Pre-Conference Nevada Test Site Tour

September 12, 2007

Be the first in your museum to take a tour of the Nevada Test Site!

Meet in the Atomic Testing Museum Lobby at 8:15 a.m.
(MUST bring Photo ID to receive badge for tour)
Tour Bus leaves at 9:00 a.m. sharp!

The National Nuclear Security Administration offers free public tours of the Nevada Test Site, a secure, 1,375 square mile government facility that was the site of atmospheric and underground nuclear testing from 1951 to 1992. You will get a guided tour of such sites as the Sedan Crater, the Ice Cap tower, and News Nob Hill with its view of Yucca Flat, the site of many 1950s atmospheric atomic tests.

This is an all-day tour; the bus will leave the ATM at 9:00 a.m. sharp, and will return about 4:30 p.m. Since the Nevada Test Site is a secure facility, please be sure to leave such items as cell phones, cameras, laptops, binoculars, GPS devices, recorders, pets, and weapons at home. It is also required that you wear long pants and closed-toed shoes on your tour.
