| Located inside the historic Boulder Dam Hotel, the exhibits and collections at the Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum explore the social and economic aspects of the Boulder Canyon Project and the Great Depression during which Hoover Dam and Boulder City were built. Permanent interactive and temporary special exhibits provide a glimpse into the ordinary lives of the dam workers and their families. The museum also houses an extensive research collection of photographs, documents, publications, and artifacts. |

The rich and colorful history of Southern Nevada comes to life on the 30 acre campus at the Clark County Museum. Step into the past on Heritage Street, a unique collection of historic homes and businesses. The Pueblo style Exhibit Center houses a time-line from prehistory to the 21st century, as well as traveling and special theme exhibits. Outdoor exhibits include a resurrected Ghost Town, Mining and Railroad history. A Southwest themed Museum Giftshop completes your visit. Annual museum programs include the Spring Native American Festival and Fall Heritage Festival.

| The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum is housed in a venue designed by noted architect Rem Koolhaas. Conceived as a "jewel box" for the presentation of exhibitions based on the collections of the Guggenheim and State Hermitage museums, exhibitions change twice yearly. | Exhibits are located throughout McCarran International Airport, and focus on the history of aviation in Southern Nevada, and its impact on the growth of development of the area. One aircraft, the Hacienda Cessna which holds the World Endurance Aloft Record hangs over north baggage claim. Other exhibits focus on airlines, personalities, events, airports, promotions, and aircraft which have affected Clark County and Southern Nevada. A reference collectiona and archives are available by appointment for researchers at the Clark County Museum. |

| Our Mission: We collect, preserve, study and exhibit neon signs and associated artifacts to inspire educational and cultural enrichment for diverse members of our international community. Refurbished signs are exhibited outdoors in downtown Las Vegas. The Neon Boneyard has non-restored signs from the 1940s-present and is accessible by appointment only. Fees apply. | The Nevada State Museum & Historical Society presents exhibits on the early people and history of southern Nevada, fossils and important geological formations, and the state's plants and animals. The research library specializes in southern Nevada history with newspaper indexes, materials on microfilm, map, photograph and manuscript collections. School group visits are by reservation with materials for use before and during a visit sent in advance. Traveling history trunks on three subjects are available for loan to classroom teachers. | The Old Fort is the site of the first non Native American settlement in Las Vegas and is recognized as the place where Las Vegas began. | Located on an actual archaeological site of Pueblo Grande de Nevada (Nevada's Lost City) the Lost City Museum interprets the artifacts left behind by the Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) occupation of the Moapa Valley from the first through thirteenth centuries AD. Artifacts include pottery, lithics, textiles and stone and shell jewelry. The museum also contains displays about the Early Man and Archaic periods of southern Nevada, as well as the later occupants of the valley, the Paiute whose exquisite basketry is on display. There are geologic, ethnographic and historic exhibits as well. The Lost City Museum is one of seven museums operated within the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs. |
